Girlguiding Ross-shire Executive Committee and Guiding Development team visited the Shieling Project at the beginning of September and we had a fantastic experience. The new bothy’s were both warm and comfortable and just the place to rest our heads after a busy day of discussing and planning what we hope to achieve for Girlguiding in Ross-shire over the next year. The main hall was a great venue for us to spread out and look at our strategy and what we actually needed to provide in terms of events and training for both girls and leaders. The kitchen was well appointed and a fantastic resource. The food and hospitality was second-to-none as we were made to feel at home, with nothing being too much of an effort and the food was sensational, we were all very impressed with the wonderful selection on offer to us. It was great to have the opportunity to see milking of the cows, collect mosses and leaves and perform some wool dyeing and we loved the felting and basket weaving which was exceptional. Sam and his team were absolute stars amongst the millions we saw overhead and we will be back with both girls and leaders in the future.
